Meantime BooBoo moved two chairs and made himself comfortable.


待っている間、ジェームス勝手にいすを２個ならべてリラックスしてます。

After our Pizza dinner, Happy BooBoo who was about to dig into the cakes.  
This was definitely a special occasion!

 A bike ride to Toronto Island


We purchased a child bike seat this year.  A big change for daddy to pulling his carrier.


７月３日。この日はトロントアイランドへ。
今年、自転車につけるチャイルドシートを買いました。
去年まで使っていた自転車の後ろにつけて引っ張るキャリアーとは大違い。

A lunch break with hotdogs near Ferry Dock. 
BooBoo had his own veggie dog for the first time and he finished 3/4 of it.  :)


トロントアイランドへ向かうフェリー乗り場の近くでホットドッグのランチ。


はじめてホットドッグ３つ買いました。ジェームス、ベジードッグの3/4食べました。

A view from the ferry to Hanlan's Point which is one of three islands.
  It only takes five minutes to get the island.


トロントアイランドは３つありますが、その１つハンランズポイント行きのフェリーからの眺め。
５分で到着です。

This is the place where James did ice-skated for the first time (and last time of the season.)

シャーボーンコモンというバーバーフロントにオープンした公園。

ジェームスが２月に初めてスケートに挑戦した場所です。結局この冬は１回だけの挑戦でしたが。

James pretended to brush his tooth using his tooth brush

made of origami papers.

おりがみで作った歯ブラシで歯を磨くふりをしているジェームス。

This time he had a real tooth brush.. :)

今度は本物の歯ブラシで。。

Yesterday, we found something we've been looking for during our small grocery 
shopping at Loblaws.


昨日ジェームすを２人でちょっとした買い物をしている途中にみつけました、
これ！　ずっと探していたのです。


"Daddy, this is for you!"


”ダディ〜、見つけたよ〜”

After shopping, we bought two desserts and 
had them in the cafeteria of this supermarket.
This is a nice spot. We can over look the lake Ontario and
talk about the boats, airplanes, birds, pedestrians.....


These desserts are not very healthy but it's ok every once in a while. :)






ショッピングの後であるデザートを２個買って、スーパー２階のカフェエリアへ。
ここ、オンタリオ湖を見下ろせるので、ちょっとくつろぐのにいい感じなのです。


買ったケーキはあまりヘルシーじゃないけど、まぁたまにだけならいいとして。。。。

”マミ〜、飛行機！”

James didn't feel like rice pudding which he is usually crazy about but 

he ate my whole cake!  

Remind you...This piece of cake is probably four times bigger than what you get in Japan.  :D

いつもライスプディングが大好きなのに、この日はあまり乗る気でなく、

私のケーキを全部食べてました。

これ、日本で売ってるケーキの４倍はあるんではないかな？

(Three men next to us were bit loud..)

Videos of the month of May

One of many things we packed in our suitcase before our departure from Japan

last winter was nearly 30 pieces of 'mochi' (rice cakes) that my mom gave us.

These rice cakes were made by her kind neighbour.  

It has citrus flavoured and it was awesome. 

 I froze them right after I got home in Toronto.

I wasn't sure what was the best to taste its aroma in rice cake so 

I simply microwaved defrosted rice cakes with a hint of soy sauce 

and wrap them with 'nori', dried seaweed.

BooBoo loved them.  He kept asking me 'more!'  :)

”マミ〜、これおいしいね〜”

去年の冬、日本から戻ってくる時にスーツケースにパッキングしたものの
ひとつがじ〜じ、ばーばにもらった沢山のお餅でした。
実はこれ、親切なお隣の人がわざわざお家でつくり持ってきてくれたもので、お餅に
しては珍しい柑橘系の香りがします。トロントに到着してすぐに冷凍しました。
私はこのお餅、すぐに気に入り。。。




どうしたらこのユズの香りを感じるが分からなかったので、
簡単にちょっとしょうゆをたらして電子レンジで暖め、のりでまいてみたら。。


ジェームス、すごく気にいってくれて、何度も
’もう１個！’

"Thank you grandma and grandpa!  

Where are you?"

”ば〜ば、じ〜じ、ありがとう。

どこへいるの〜”　と言ってます。

I thought this matching sweater with daddy really suited him
so I took a few photos before taking him to daycare.  :)

このダディとお揃いのセーター、すごく似合っているなぁと思った

ので、ある朝ディケアに行く前にパチリ！

A big thank you for daycare where BooBoo learns Japanese. 
BooBoo speaks a lot of Japanese but he's very interested in English songs as well.


ジェームスのABC の歌です。イントロだけ。。。


ジェームス、沢山の日本語を話します。ディケアに感謝しなくては。。
でも英語の歌ももちろん大好きです。

ABC song - one more time!

He's saying 'look at that!' in English and some other words in Japanese.


もう１回、同じ歌。
”見て！”と英語で言ってみたり、日本語で何か言ったりのジェームス。

A fun time with daddy:

A play time is more fun when daddy is around!

I think I am overprotective but daddy knows how to have a fun with BooBoo safely.

ダディとの楽しい時間


公園で遊ぶのもダディがいるともっと楽しい！
私は危ない事をさせないように気をつかいすぎるけど、
ダディは安全にでもジェームスとどう楽しく過ごすかをちゃんと分かってます。

BooBoo's bike.


ジェームスの自転車。

This bike was on display in BooBoo's room for so long but finally it came in use.
He rides this bike almost everyday.

Now he can do two feet up!  He goes so fast and it's hard for me to catch him.

この自転車。ず〜っとジェームスに部屋に飾ってありましたが、やっと使ってもらえる日が
やってきました。それも、毎日。。。


ちょっと蹴って、足を地面につかなくても走れます。早すぎで私は追いかけるのが大変です。

After hours of fun at the park, he was pooped and he actually fell asleep while

dinner which I've never seen before. 


Still he was eating and even asking me to wipe off some yogurt on his hand.
The King is demanding.  lol


何時間も公園で遊んだ後、なんとジェームス、ディナー中にうつろうつろ。。。
こんなの見た事ない！


なんとか食べつつ、手についたヨーグルトを拭いてくれと頼むジェームスでした。
王様の貫禄。（笑）

It's been raining a lot lately.  I think this is the reason why teachers at daycare 
taught kids  'teru teru bozu' song
which it wasn't listed as a song of the month I received in advance.


BooBoo also made 'bozu'.

The lyric begins with 'A Sunny Boy, please bring us sunshine tomorrow.....'.  :)
Traditionally, the toddlers make this 'sunny boy' using paper a day before the big outdoor event 
such as school picnic
and hang him on the curtain rails.... wishing next day is a nice sunny day.


I didn't ask him to sing this song but James did when I asked him to pose with 
his craft.

最近いまいち天気の晴れない日が続きます。
ディケアの先生が事前に予定していた歌に加えてこの歌も
生徒に教えてくれたようです。頼んだわけではないのですが、
ディケアから持って帰ってきたてるてるぼうずと写真と撮ろうとしたら
いきなり歌いだしたのです。

Tonight, May 29, he was having dinner (Vegetarian stir fry Udon noodle, chickpeas,
tangerine), out of nowhere he started singing a Carp Streamer song
he learnt at daycare.


今日、５月２９日、ジェームスにディナー（ベジタリアン風焼きうどん、ひよこまめ、みかん）
をあげていたら、いきなりディケアで習った　’こいのぼり’　を歌いだしました。









For some reasons, he had to sing ABC song again....
It was almost completed.  :)




なぜか続いて　ABC　の歌。。。
もうちょっとで全部歌えたんだけどね。：）

In case you wonder, he starts wearing his helmet when he goes out with his bike after

the video was shot.  :)

念の為。。ジェームスがあまりに元気に動き回るので、ビデオをとった翌日
からヘルメットをつけてます。
